Moss removal

Moss and algae tend to grow in damp shaded areas and can cause damage to your roof if left untreated. If you allow large amounts of moss to grow over your roof these patches can become damp and end up rotting the materials below.

If moss removal is something you aren’t taking seriously it can lead to water becoming trapped by moss pools in gaps between your roof tiles.

If you notice this is happening ideally you want to catch it before the moss pool water freezes and thaws as this can lead to tiles being pushed apart causing further damage to your roof.

Moss will grow if your roof is situated in either a damp or shady environment. In many homes and properties, we have found that the north side of the roof is affected as it receives the least time in the sun.

Unfortunately, the damp climate of the UK means its the perfect conditions for moss to grow and thrive on roofs.
The extra weight of the moss can end up causing stress on the roof. Moss removal is an easy way to reduce the unnecessary costs of roof replacement in the future.
